The hard things

Why are we so scared to do The Hard Thing even if we know it will set us free?

..

Today I hit a major milestone in my financial life. Not a big revenue number or massive sale. Instead, I passed a big number in my credit score.

..

For many this might not be a big deal but for those of you who have been here awhile you know: This is huge.

..

You see- 10 years ago my first business failed & the fall out was doing the one thing no one wants to do- declare bankruptcy. I was a high earner before this & had a Perfect credit score the day I filed, but I saw the early writing on the wall of the recession {thank you degree in Economics} & decided to do The Hard Thing.

..

Well- this particular Hard Thing came with a lot of shame & wrangling with failure.

..

But in my heart I knew it was what I had to do. I had to learn the lessons that came with it. I needed to learn how to run a business that wasn’t in finance. I had to create a relationship with money- where previously it had been simple: make a lot, spend a lot {that executive salary though 😍}.

..

And I needed to face how I had blended money with my worthiness, salary with success & achievement with my value. NOT for the faint of heart- but 💯worth it.

..

Here’s the thing: for years, I was in deep mourning of ‘My Successful Self’. ✨Even when my next business became wildly successful. ✨Even when my coaching practice surpassed even that. ✨Even when my revenues crossed over $1,000,000 since That Day {and has now soared beyond}. ..

In the depths of my heart NOTHING could fill the void of that failure until I sat down one day last fall, said Fuck This & took my power back from a number that was already good but could be Great 👊🏻

..

I was feeling SO strong in my body & was ready to channel that strength.

..

So I researched. I set aggressive goals. I got comfortable in the discomfort of improving. And within 6 months- I radically changed the game.

..

Sometimes The Hard Thing is exactly The Right Thing. Not because we can prove our worth by doing it, but because we can see just how awesome we are when we set our mind to something HARD.

..

So what Hard Thing are you ready to do Fierce One? It’s Time 👊🏻🔥👑
