Glass ceilings

I feel incredibly blessed that my parents taught me this from Day 1 and gave my sister & I the chance to attend all-girls school which solidly set me up for this mentality. I’ve actually never seen being a woman as being an impediment to anything I desire, and I do realize how special it is to have learned this from an early age.

..

If you’ve ever had the chance to meet my mom Bernadette you’d know- glass ceiling don’t even exist in her world to be shattered in the first place 👑

..

Although my husband & I have chosen not to have children, that doesn’t mean I’m not passionate about passing this legacy on. One of my missions is to help every woman find her own version of this & then develop the strength (internal and external) to go for whatever she damn well wants in her life. ..

Because those glass ceilings? Most of the time they are created in our own mind. And your glass ceiling may be radically different than mine. But having the confidence to go for it- whether you run a business or work in corporate or are raising a family or anywhere you chose to serve- and bust through your OWN expectations is, I believe, what it’s all about 👊🏻

..

So go out there. Rock the boat. Break some glass. Fire things up. Get rowdy & loud. Be a rebel. Do it differently. Surprise even yourself with what you can do.

..

And if you still want to wear glass slippers because they make you feel powerful as fuck, by all means do so. Or leather boots. Or high heels. Or whatever you feel badass in.

..

But never do it because you think you have to. Do it because you want to. You need to. You can’t imagine life if you don’t.

..

That ladies, is where the shattering becomes the rising ✨👑🖤 Happy #internationalwomensday #iwd2019
