Encinitas half marAthon

Another successful race day πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 13.1 mile Encinitas Half Marathon and this girl got a MASSIVE PR of EIGHTEEN (18) Minutes faster than my last race πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ» For 2.5 hours of running in 80 degree weather from being told 12 years ago I should never run again- that’s a big deal for me.

I swear I spend the first two miles of every race now in tears of so much gratitude that I can run again, that I know how to support my body better than ever, that I get to do this with my love, and that I live in a community where thousands of people come out to compete in events like this.

It’s seriously beyond beautiful in the moment 🀩

I traveled around the country doing endurance races & triathlons in my 20’s, but damn there is something special about racing in your own turf.

North County is for sure the hometown of my heart πŸ–€

And P.S. today I was SO inspired by people out there getting it DONE πŸ‘ŠπŸ» From elite athletes to fathers pushing sons in wheelchairs to women walking in packs and everything in between. I hope you all felt my internal fist pumps & silent β€˜Fuck Yeahs!!’ To literally thousands along the way.

That may be the secret to my PR actually- recognizing so much strength in those around me & cheering others on to let that energy carry me faster than I even realized.

I think it’s fair to say I’ve caught the endurance bug again BAD. And I’m not complaining one bit πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ”₯πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ”₯πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ”₯ #encinitashalfmarathon #turnyourfearsintofierce
